Is Dogecoin Halal?
I’ve used Dogecoin to make regular payments to a developer in Indonesia.
From a Halal perspective, as an investment, speculating about the future price of something that isn’t inherently haram is in no way haram.
In fact, speculation is a necessary component of most investing activity.
For example, stock investors typically value a company by discounting future cash flows to the present day. future cash flows don’t exist today so a certain amount of speculation is required to value them.
Similarly, while the usefulness of Dogecoin may be questioned today, there is no religious prohibition on speculating what it will be in the future.
Therefore, I find Dogecoin to be Comfortable to invest in from a Halal perspective.
