The Bay State legalized medical marijuana in 2012 and recreational in 2016. Here are some notes about Massachusetts’ marijuana home grow laws:
*Medical cannabis was legalized through Question 3, the Medical Marijuana Initiative which was approved by voters at 63%. This allowed patients to buy up to 10 ounces every 2 months and cultivate a 60-day supply under a hardship registration.
*Recreational marijuana was legalized by way of Question 4, and this allowed Massachusetts adults to possess up to an ounce and cultivate up to 6 plants per person and up to 12 plants per residence.
